1.What is a load knife?
The Load Break Switch is an electrical device used to switch electrical circuits. It is used as an interlocking circuit breaker, but it has a lot more advantages than a regular circuit breaker that is the ability to switch on / off under load. The installation at the ends of the branches will narrow the area of power outages when performing planned power cuts for work, or segmentation to handle problems on lines.
With the ability to switch on / off the load current, the fault short-circuit current and will close automatically after a preset time, when installing the Recloser (automatic shut-off device) on the grid can to the minimum of transient incidents means reducing the number of unnecessary power outages of the line. In addition, the Recloser also allows the technical department, the grid dispatcher to track most reliably the impact conditions of the equipment, the operating status of the load for a long time thanks to reliable incident data storage, which ensures that information is not lost in any case.
Load breakers are commonly used in Vietnam to switch medium voltage circuits (6kV to 35kV)
2. Where is the installation location?
Isolators usually install protective devices such as breakers, fuses in advance.
Installed indoors and outdoors
Expensive installation on electric poles or in medium voltage cabinets.
3. Classification of load breakers (LBS)
According to the structure of the arc stamping chamber:
The load breaker has a normal arc stamping chamber
Load breakers with gas or oil (SF6) arc stamping chambers => Called LBS load breakers
How it works:
Manual load breaker
Remote control load breaker => Called LBS load breaker
According to the installation environment:
Load breaker for indoor installation.
The load breaker for outdoor installation.
According to the working voltage
Load breaker 6kV Load breakers 10kV
Load break switch 22kV ..............
According to the drive type:
- - Horizontal open type load breaker
- - Vertical open load breaker
